Events & Tasks

Creating events and tasks

Choose the kind in Quick Add, then write it

Creating from Quick Add

Tap a date in month view, or open week view, and a Quick Add field appears near the bottom. Both events and tasks are quickest to make here.

Choose what you are making before you write. It does not sort that out from what you typed.

  1. 1The Quick Add field starts out as an event
  2. 2To make a task, tap the Calendar symbol at the right of the field to switch it to the checkmark symbol
  3. 3Write a title and save

Saving or cancelling one puts it back to events. Making several tasks in a row means switching each time.

The symbol hides once you start writing and turns into ⓘ. Change the kind before you start, not after.

Dates and times are picked out of what you write

Include a date or a time in the title and it is picked out and filled into the date field. Write meeting tomorrow at 3pm and the date becomes tomorrow, the time 3pm.

It does not decide the kind for you. A time written into the task side still makes a task.

When there is more to set

Tap ⓘ while writing to open the detail screen. Correct a date that was read wrong, or set the repeat, the alert, and where to save it.

Do check which calendar it saves to. With more than one account, that choice decides whether it shows up on your other devices.

Repeat and alerts

Repeat can be daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, and an alert fires ahead of the event time.

These are the same settings as the iPhone Calendar's. A repeat or alert you set in HyFlow appears in the iPhone Calendar app too, and edits made there come back here.

All-day events

An event with no time that takes the whole day. Use it for trips or anniversaries, where the hour isn't the point. All-day events gather at the top of the date.
