There are two kinds of to-do
Tell them apart by the shape of the checkbox
HyFlow has two kinds of to-do, different in nature. Tell them apart by the shape of the checkbox.
◯ Round checkbox = Reminder
A to-do stored in the iPhone Reminders app.
You see the same list on your other devices and in other apps. Anything added by Siri lands here too. Suited to something that fits on one line, like "buy milk".
☐ Square checkbox = To-do note
A HyFlow note made as the to-do type.
Think of it as a note with a checkbox. Being a note, it holds as much body text as you like, along with photos, sketches, and recordings.
Suited to something that comes with things to write down, like "moving house".
They appear in one list together
The Today and Upcoming lists show both, ordered by due date. They sit together in the Calendar and in the Flow too. There is no need to keep them apart.
The shape of the checkbox tells you which is which. Round means it lives in iPhone Reminders, square means it is a HyFlow note.
Making a to-do note
Create a note, then change its type to to-do in Note Style and a checkbox appears. Set a folder's default type to to-do and notes made there start out as to-dos.
Due date, alert, and repeat can be set as well. Tap the + beside the title.
If you're unsure which to use
Reminders are light and open anywhere. Choose this when other apps need to see it too. To-do notes hold content. Choose this when there is something to write down.
They cannot be converted later, so if it looks like it will grow, start as a to-do note.
