Flow

What is a Flow?

The day that gathers itself

A photo taken in the morning, the place you had lunch, a line you jotted down at night. The moment those scattered pieces line up in the order they happened, they become a day.

A Flow is your day, gathered like that.

One photo isn't enough to bring a day back

Where you were, what the weather was like, what you wrote down. Only when those sit next to each other does the day return to you.

A Flow fills in what sits next to it.

What gathers here

Only what you allow, and quietly. Turn any of it off whenever you like.

  1. 1Photos. The day's photos appear at the time they were taken
  2. 2Places. Where you stayed is kept in the order you went
  3. 3Weather. Whether the day was clear or grey is remembered along with it
  4. 4Events and tasks. What was in Calendar and Tasks finds its place
  5. 5Memos. The line you wrote sits at the time you wrote it

What your body remembers

Records from the Health app join the same line. Only what you allow comes in.

  1. 1Workouts. What you did, when, and how much. Runs and rides that leave a trail bring their route along
  2. 2Sleep and waking. When you fell asleep and when you woke sit at each end of the day
  3. 3Activity. Steps taken and distance covered that day

Turn each of these on or off in Settings > Flow.

On devices without Health data support, these do not appear.

My Journey

The places you went are joined in order and drawn as a single map, at the bottom of the Flow.

Each stop is numbered, so where you set out from and where the day carried you reads at a glance. Tap the map to open it larger, with place names.

Stop by the same spot more than once and the map gathers it into one point, while the list keeps every visit.

Entries and memos

A single line in a Flow is called an entry. The ones you wrote yourself are memos. That is how what gathers on its own and what you left by hand are told apart.

Swipe back to an earlier date. The weather and the places you went are still there.
